Bishop Daniel Onashuyaka Lunge is the resident Bishop of the Central Congo Area, which includes Central Congo, Kasai, Western Congo conferences in the Congo Central Conference of The United Methodist Church.

He was elected to the episcopacy in 2017, while serving as Dean of the Faculty of Theology at Patrice Emery Lumumba University, based at Wembo-Nyama Methodist mission.

Lunge, born in Emongo village in Sankuru province, initially became a teacher before studying theology. He served as pastor in Katoka, Kananga, and also served as treasurer for the Congo Central Annual Conference.

Lunge was appointed to different offices in the church including district superintendent of Kinshasa and assistant to the bishop in Kinshasa.

 He graduated from Wembo Nyama and Protestant University in Congo. He got aggregation from the Protestant University in Congo in Kinshasa, the capital city of the Democratic Republic of Congo. He did his Librarianship studies at Protestant University of Central Africa / Yaoundé (Cameroon), and received a Ph.D. in Theology from UPAC Yaoundé / Neuchâtel (Switzerland).

Lunge is married to Julianne Dembo, and they have seven children.
